SUMMARY:

Junior Electrical Engineer – Substations & Transmission

We're recruiting on behalf of a client looking for a driven and ambitious Junior Electrical Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Centurion. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to high-voltage substations, transmission infrastructure, and renewable energy projects while working alongside experienced engineers on critical power projects.

The Junior Electrical Engineer will assist in the design, planning, and execution of high-voltage (HV) substation and transmission projects. Working under the guidance of Senior Engineers, you will support technical documentation, site inspections, and contractor coordination to ensure project delivery meets engineering standards and safety regulations.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications B.Eng, B.Sc, or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) Registered or working towards registration as a Candidate Engineer\/Technologist with ECS Job Experience & Skills : 1-3 years' experience in Electrical Engineering Assist with the design and review of single-line diagrams, substation layouts, schematic drawings, and earthing designs Maintain engineering registers, drawings, and technical documentation Perform basic electrical calculations including cable sizing, load schedules, and equipment ratings Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress against approved drawings Support commissioning, testing, and fault-finding activities Assist in enforcing health, safety, and quality standards on project sites Liaise with suppliers to obtain technical specifications and quotations Assist with technical documentation for tenders and procurement packages Willingness to travel to project sites as requirement Technical Skills HV & MV Substations Transformers Switchgear Protection Relays Busbar Systems AutoCAD Electrical Design Documentation DigSILENT (Advantageous) ETAP (Advantageous) Technical Reporting & Documentation If you have not had any response in two weeks, please consider the vacancy application unsuccessful.
