Accountant / Bookkeeper   Location: Sandton, Johannesburg  Employment Type: Permanent (with probation period)  Job Summary   An established company is seeking an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their finance team in Sandton. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with company financial procedures and accounting standards.  This role is suited to a detail-oriented finance professional with solid accounting/bookkeeping experience in a fast-paced corporate environment. Candidates from logistics, transportation, international trade, manufacturing, or FMCG industries will be highly preferred.  Key Responsibilities   Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping transactions  Process invoices, supplier payments, expense claims, and journals accurately  Perform bank, supplier, and general ledger reconciliations  Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation  Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes  Prepare financial reports and assist with management accounts  Ensure compliance with company financial policies and internal controls  Support audit preparation and statutory compliance requirements  Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities where required  Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, and external stakeholders  Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial information  Competencies & Attributes   Strong numerical and analytical skills  High level of accuracy and attention to detail  Good organisational and time management skills  Ability to work independently and meet deadlines  Strong communication and interpersonal skills  Professional, reliable, and accountable  Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced corporate environment  Minimum Requirements   Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field  Minimum 3 years’ accounting/bookkeeping experience  Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes  Proficient in MS Excel and accounting systems  Experience within logistics, transportation, international trade, manufacturing, or FMCG industries will be advantageous  Stable employment history preferred
