POSITION INFO:
A growing FMCG \/ food manufacturing business is looking for a Junior Industrial Engineer to join its Supply Chain team. This role is ideal for an analytical, detail-oriented Industrial Engineer who enjoys working with data, manufacturing processes, systems and continuous improvement The key focus will be creating end-to-end visibility across the supply chain - from raw material receiving and production through WIP, finished goods and dispatch - while improving the accuracy and efficiency of the processes behind the data. Key responsibilities - Build and maintain visibility of material and product movements across the supply chain - Own the daily mass balance , investigating and resolving variances - Analyse production yields, WIP, stock movements and inventory variances - Develop dashboards and reports using Excel, ERP\/MES and BI tools - Identify root causes of discrepancies and drive corrective action - Map, simplify and improve data capture and reporting processes - Reduce manual work, duplicate capturing and rework through process improvement and automation - Support stock counts, reconciliations and inventory accuracy across multiple sites - Identify bottlenecks, waste and process breakdowns - Standardise data-capture processes and SOPs across sites - Work closely with Production, Procurement, Finance, Food Safety, Maintenance, Warehouse and Dispatch Requirements ✅ BEng \/ BTech \/ BSc in Industrial Engineering or related field ✅ Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing, FMCG or food production ✅ Strong Excel skills - pivot tables, lookups and data cleaning ✅ Experience with ERP\/MES systems and production or stock reporting ✅ Understanding of manufacturing processes, WIP, warehousing and dispatch ✅ Knowledge of mass balance \/ yield reconciliation ✅ Power BI or similar BI experience advantageous ✅ Lean \/ Six Sigma exposure advantageous ✅ Valid driver's licence and own transport ✅ Willingness to travel between multiple KZN sites We are looking for someone who is analytical, inquisitive, process-driven and hands-on , with a strong focus on data accuracy and practical problem solving. 📍 KZN | Multi-site role 💼 Full-time | Permanent 🔒 Confidential employer Interested?
