IMPORT & PROCUREMENT CONTROLLER Reference Number: MID725 Location: Three Rivers, Vaal Triangle Position Type: Permanent   ABOUT THE POSITION Midvaal Recruitment is seeking a high-performing, detail-oriented Import & Procurement Controller on behalf of a leading client based in Three Rivers. In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end imports and procurement for an allocated portfolio, overseeing overseas stock order shipments, and ensuring seamless supply chain execution.   REMUNERATION & BENEFITS Basic Salary: R18 000 – R20 000 per month Company Benefits: 50% Company Contribution to Discovery Medical Aid (Main Member) Pension Fund Contribution   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Portfolio & Import Management: Manage end-to-end imports and procurement for an allocated portfolio and oversee overseas stock order shipments from origin to delivery. Order & Supplier Coordination: Validate proforma invoices, create SAP Purchase Orders (POs), and track supplier readiness proactively. Freight & Logistics Control: Obtain and compare competitive freight quotes, appoint forwarding agents, and closely monitor shipments in transit. Customs & Warehouse Coordination: Check shipping documentation, complete clearing instructions, and coordinate receipt of goods at the warehouse. Financials & Costing: Prepare supplier payments, handle Foreign Exchange Cover (FEC) requirements, calculate landed costings, and accurately book stock into SAP. Reporting & Risk Mitigation: Maintain accurate shipment reports and import files while communicating supply chain risks early. Team Support: Provide cross-portfolio backup support for other import portfolios when required.   REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS Experience & Education Experience: Minimum of 4 years' experience in Imports \/ Supply Chain Management. A financial background is highly beneficial. Education: Diploma or Degree in Imports \/ Supply Chain Management. Skills & Systems Strong financial acumen and figure-oriented mindset. High level of computer literacy. SAP experience is highly beneficial. Competencies & Work Style Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
