HR Practitioner: Selections

• Recognized Degree/National Diploma in Human Resource /Public Admin or relevant qualification 1-2 years’ experience in the recruitment and appointment environment. Computer literate. Valid driver’s licence.

Competencies and attributes

• Knowledge of HR policies related to recruitment and selection and DPSA guidelines. Financial Policy regarding claims, expenditure, advances, payments, invoices, etc. Report-writing, Interpersonal relations, Confidentiality and self-discipline, Communication, Problem-solving and listening skills.
• Knowledge of Public Service Regulations, Employee Relations Act. Policy development, analysis, monitoring, evaluation and implementation advice. Information collection, analyses, interpretation, dissemination regarding HR policies, acts and regulations. Basic Conditions of Employment Act. Employment Equity Act and other HR relevant mandates.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer selection processes for entry-level, junior, middle and senior management posts in accordance with applicable legislation, policies and departmental frameworks. Coordinate all administrative processes related to shortlisting, interviews and competency-based assessments.
• Coordinate logistical arrangements for selection processes, including travel, accommodation, venues, catering and assessment services.
• Ensure effective document management, filing and safekeeping of recruitment and selection records. Management of performance information. Management of resources.
