HR Generalist - Meat Traders

SUMMARY:
Meat Traders Abattoir is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to take ownership of the full HR function at our Queenstown operation.
The successful candidate will be a practical, organised and resilient HR professional with solid experience in a fast-paced operational or blue-collar environment. You will play a key role in ensuring labour-law compliance, supporting managers with employee-relations matters and driving people-development initiatives across the business.

What you will do

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations and exit processes.
• Maintain HR records, employee data, personnel files and HR reporting.
• Ensure HR practices comply with South African labour legislation and internal policies.
• Guide line managers through disciplinary hearings, investigations, grievances, incapacity processes and CCMA preparation.
• Manage and verify payroll inputs and related HR administration.
• Drive Employment Equity, training, talent development and employee-engagement projects.
• Partner with management on workforce planning and practical people solutions.

POSITION INFO:
What we are looking for Relevant HR degree or diploma. Minimum of five years' HR generalist experience. Strong knowledge and practical experience in IR\/ER. Experience in manufacturing, food production, abattoir operations or another industrial environment is advantageous. Up-to-date knowledge of South African labour legislation. Strong interpersonal, communication and administrative skills. A self-starter who can work independently and engage effectively with employees at all levels.
