POSITION INFO:
The Head of Mining Solutions will lead the commercial and technical interface with key customers and business partners, with a particular focus on international growth while maintaining and strengthening the established South African business. The business designs, manufactures and supplies products for the underground mining industry. Key responsibilities will include: Developing and executing the commercial growth strategy. Identifying and establishing new international markets, customers and strategic partnerships. Building relationships with mining houses, distributors, EPCM firms and consulting engineers. Providing senior technical expertise in underground ground support, rock reinforcement, resin systems, roof bolting, cable support and ground control. Working with customers to develop technically sound and commercially viable mining solutions. Leading major commercial negotiations and strategic supply agreements. Providing input into product development, innovation and market strategy. Maintaining a strong understanding of global underground mining trends, technologies and competitive products. Mentoring and developing Sales, Marketing and Business Development teams. Working closely with Manufacturing and Distribution to translate customer requirements into effective solutions. Requirements: A degree in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Rock or Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline, would be advantageous. An MBA, MSc or similar postgraduate qualification and professional registration would be beneficial. Strong technical authority and credibility within underground mining. Commercial judgement and an ability to identify and convert opportunities. Executive presence and strategic thinking. The ability to build trusted relationships with mine management, technical specialists and executives. Strong negotiation and influencing skills. Resilience, drive and adaptability. The ability to operate confidently across different cultures and international markets. This role will suit a technically strong underground mining professional ready to move into a broader commercial and executive leadership role.
