Handyman

Purpose of the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Handyman to join our team. The role focuses on performing general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of Finlar Fine Foods' facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. The role ensures that the manufacturing plant, offices, and surrounding areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and operational condition, supporting business continuity, employee safety, and compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards.

 Position Responsibilities

• Painting and maintaining the interior and exterior of the factory buildings.
• Carrying out plastering, bricklaying, and general masonry repairs within and around the factory premises.
• Repairing and maintaining walkways, concrete surfaces, and other external factory infrastructure.
• Repairing and maintaining insulated (ISO) wall and ceiling panels.
• Performing general maintenance, repairs, and handyman duties as assigned.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards.
• Providing support to artisans and production personnel with ad hoc tasks and projects as required by operational needs.

• Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
• 1–2 years' relevant experience in a Handy Man or general maintenance role.
• Ability and willingness to work weekends when required.
• Good practical skills and the ability to perform a variety of maintenance

• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively to maintenance requests.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour and lifting equipment when required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and dependable.
• Safety-conscious with a strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and assist across various maintenance activities.
• Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contractors.
