Job description: The Group has a position available for a hardworking, safety conscious and dedicated individual to join the Electrical department as a General Technical Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Assisting the team with maintenance and upgrading of existing electrical control and distribution systems Ensure all electrical equipment is well maintained and isolated by the Qualified Artisan before conducting any work Assist with carrying out repairs and maintenance on all electrical equipment Assist with installing conduit, cable racking and cables according to standard work requirement as and when instructed Identify and able to select appropriate hand tools Able to use basic power tools Housekeeping Assist the department manager and Qualified Artisans with ad-hoc duties Qualifying Criteria Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience Adhering to the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act Grade 12 matric certificate or equivalent Good communication skills, (speak, read and write English) Prepared to work overtime Qualifying Attributes: Must be able to work with minimum supervision Basic computer proficiency Ability to work independently as well as in a team Self-motivated and results orientated Must have sober habits Enjoy practical and manual work & be able to work in a pressurized environment Attention to detail Sound understanding of an array of tools and technical equipment Good hand-eye coordination Full understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety Rules and regulations Time and priority management Display a professional work approach Logical and detail orientated Excellent standards of execution Other Information: Job title : General Technical Assistant Job type : Permanent position Benefits include Provident fund Life cover at 4X annual salary Funeral cover 15 x paid leave days per annum Long service leave after five years of employment Standard hours 07h30-17h00: Monday-Thursday 07h30-16h00: Friday May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements Please note applications for this position closes on Friday, 16 October 2026 .
