SUMMARY:
Provide strategic leadership for Integrated Business Operations as a member of the Executive Management Team.

POSITION INFO:
PURPOSE: Provide strategic leadership for Integrated Business Operations as a member of the Executive Management Team. Direct bus operations, fleet maintenance, service delivery, revenue collection and customer experience. Lead electric vehicle (EV) and green mobility programmes, including fleet transition, charging and depot readiness, energy resilience and lifecycle asset management, to deliver safe, reliable and financially sustainable services aligned to Metrobus and City mandates. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Integrated Business Strategy Development and implementation: Align departmental plans with Metrobus and City strategies; lead delivery and monitor performance. Operations and service planning: Direct depot operations, routes, schedules and resources; coordinate mixed-fleet deployment, charging windows, safety, reliability and revenue collection. Fleet and technical services: Manage fleet renewal, maintenance, repairs, battery health, charging assets and OEM warranties across the asset lifecycle. EV and green mobility: Lead fleet electrification, charging and depot projects; coordinate grid readiness, energy resilience, environmental controls and energy and emissions performance. Customer service and stakeholders: Improve passenger experience, resolve complaints and manage relationships with the City, communities, transport partners, suppliers and funders. Governance and risk: Manage policies, processes, controls, SHERQ, EV safety and business continuity; report performance and implement corrective action. Contracts and service levels: Oversee specifications, supplier agreements, commissioning, maintenance support, warranties and contractor performance. People and change leadership: Manage staff, performance, employee relations and skills development; coordinate EV reskilling with the Centre of Excellence. Financial management: Manage budgets, revenue, expenditure, lifecycle costs and green mobility funding within approved financial controls. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Grade 12 Certificate. A relevant Honours degree in Operations Management, Engineering Management, Business Management, Logistics Management, Transportation Management, Administration Management or a similar field. A valid EB, EC or C driver''s licence. A minimum of ten years'' functional work experience in business operations and\/or a public transport environment, of which at least five years must be at management level. Advantageous Qualifications and Experience Senior management experience would be an added advantage. Skills & Core Competencies Knowledge of relevant local-government legislation and regulations, including the National Land Transport Act, AARTO, Municipal Systems Act, MFMA, Labour Relations Act and Basic Conditions of Employment Act. Knowledge of occupational health and safety, operational risk, quality and environmental impacts of heavy vehicles (SHERQ), including EV safety and environmental controls. Knowledge of electric-bus operations, charging infrastructure, depot electrification, energy management, mixed-fleet transition planning, battery lifecycle management and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) warranties. Fleet, transport, maintenance, logistics, contract and project management; total quality and productivity management; green mobility project governance, total cost of ownership and energy and emissions measurement. Strategic leadership, financial management, people and employee relations management; customer and stakeholder relations; strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, conflict management and problem-solving skills. Technology transition, workforce development and change management; energy resilience and sustainable fleet lifecycle planning; proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
