Job Description

The Gaming Technical Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Business Unit’s gaming technical operations and team, ensuring the availability, reliability and effective performance of gaming equipment while supporting the delivery of an exceptional customer experience.

The role provides technical leadership across the gaming floor, manages gaming product performance, contributes to product mix and pricing decisions, and oversees the repair, maintenance and technical standards of slot machines and other gaming-related equipment. It also carries accountability for regulatory compliance, technical projects, budgets, people management, supplier relationships and the implementation of Group Gaming Technical standards at Business Unit level.

The role requires specialised knowledge of gaming technical equipment, processes and products, together with the ability to analyse product performance, manage technical operations and make recommendations that improve customer experience, profitability and operational performance.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • N4 with a Trade (prior 1992); OR
  • T3, S4 or equivalent qualification in Light Current
  • Must meet the requirements for a Key Gaming Licence.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Gaming Technical Shift Management position
  • Strong technical knowledge of slot machines and gaming equipment
  • Experience managing gaming technical operations and teams
  • Experience analysing gaming product performance
  • Exposure to gaming product mix, floor planning and pricing
  • Experience managing technical standards, controls and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with budgeting, cost management, CAPEX and forecasting
  • Experience managing vendors and suppliers
  • Demonstrated people management, coaching and development experience
  • Strong knowledge of gaming regulations and compliance procedures
  • Ability to work shifts in accordance with operational requirements
  • Must be physically able to move and carry operating equipment in line with the requirements of the position

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop and deliver Gaming Technical plans aligned to Group and Business Unit gaming strategy.
  • Lead the Gaming Technical team and allocate people and operational resources effectively.
  • Act as the Business Unit subject matter expert on gaming technical matters.
  • Maintain gaming technical standards, governance, controls and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyse gaming product performance and recommend opportunities to improve product performance and customer demand.
  • Provide input into gaming product mix and pricing strategy.
  • Design and influence gaming floor plans and oversee machine moves, technical projects and system configurations.
  • Manage the Business Unit's Master Floor Plan.
  • Manage Gaming Technical budgets, CAPEX, costs, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Manage supplier and vendor relationships and performance.
  • Develop, coach and manage the performance of the Gaming Technical team.
  • Maintain technical service standards that support a high-quality gaming customer experience.
  • Manage escalated customer complaints and technical service issues.
  • Provide relevant Gaming Board, audit, risk, financial and operational reporting.
