Fitter & Turner (Production & Maintenance Supervisor)

Hire Resolve’s client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter & Turner to oversee mechanical maintenance and production support at their Durban-based facility. This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership ability and experience in a fast-paced, continuous production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and participate in mechanical maintenance activities to ensure plant reliability.

• Identify, diagnose and resolve mechanical faults and equipment issues.

• Minimise machinery downtime and support continuous production.

• Manage and support maintenance and production teams.

• Monitor team performance and contribute to improved production efficiency.

• Provide hands-on technical support in a demanding manufacturing environment.

• Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve maintenance and operational challenges.

• Red Seal Trade Test in Fitting & Turning is essential.

• Completed four-year apprenticeship.

• Proven experience in an FMCG or continuous production environment.

• Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance and production teams.

• Strong technical, analytical, fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

• Effective communication and leadership capabilities.

• Proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to work under pressure.

• Computer literacy.

• A proven track record in a similar production and maintenance supervisory role is advantageous.
