Financial Operations Manager

The Financial Operations Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the Business Unit’s financial performance, governance, controls and finance operations. Working closely with the Finance Shared Services Centre, Central Office and Business Unit leadership, the role drives financial discipline, accurate reporting, budgeting and forecasting while identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational performance.

The role also leads the Business Unit finance team, strengthens financial controls and compliance, manages financial risk, and provides commercially focused insights and recommendations to support effective business decision-making.

Requirements

Qualifications

• B.Com Honours (CTA) with Articles or equivalent [Required]
• Registration as a Chartered Accountant (CA) is advantageous. Financial Operations Manager

Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a general financial management environment
• Experience managing financial operations, budgets, forecasts and financial controls
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles
• Experience analysing financial performance and providing commercially focused recommendations
• Experience coordinating internal and external audits
• Experience managing and developing finance teams
• Experience working with multiple senior business stakeholders
• Experience within a hospitality and/or gaming environment is advantageous
• Must meet the requirements for a key Gaming Licence. Financial Operations Manager

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Lead the Business Unit’s financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Analyse financial results, trends and variances and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Maintain effective financial governance, controls and risk-management practices.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, tax regulations, gaming requirements and Group standards.
• Oversee financial transactions and reporting delivered in partnership with the Finance Shared Services Centre.
• Manage CAPEX requirements, procurement processes and stock controls.
• Coordinate internal and external financial audits.
• Provide accurate management reporting, financial commentary and decision-support information.
• Lead, coach and develop the Business Unit finance team.
• Build strong relationships with Business Unit leadership, Group Finance, Shared Services and external stakeholders
