POSITION INFO:
Our client is a South African agricultural and logistics group with international operations across southern Africa, the Indian Ocean region and beyond. They are seeking an experienced Financial Manager – Trading to oversee financial management across their trading entities, including fruit, nuts, coffee and fertiliser operations, with responsibility for SADC-region subsidiaries (Namibia, Zambia, Tanzania). Key Responsibilities Lead financial management and reporting across multiple trading entities, ensuring accurate month-end closures and management accounts. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, creditors, debtors and inventory management. Manage cash flow, liquidity planning and working capital allocation across trading operations. Prepare budgets, conduct variance analysis and build financial models to support forecasting and resource planning. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency across trading entities. Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements, cost-saving initiatives and automation opportunities. Analyse data, identify trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-making across the business. Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including support for annual audit processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and multiple departments to optimise processes and drive growth. Evaluate risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate risk exposure. Requirements Honours degree in a related discipline. CIMA qualification or CA(SA). 3+ years' relevant financial management experience. Exposure to financial management within SADC-region operations (Namibia, Zambia, Tanzania). Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI). Experience in import\/export trading and foreign currency \/ international payments exposure. Experience in international trading (Mauritius, Dubai) is advantageous. Fluency in Afrikaans and English, written and verbal. Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset. Ability to prioritise and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
