Job Description

Ready to put your qualification to work for good?

If you hold a qualification in a finance-related field such as Management, Finance, Business, or Accounting, keep reading. You'll want to hear this!

Confluent has permanent opportunities for early-career professionals. Bring energy, confidence, and ambition, and the rest will come.

What is the rest, you ask? Growth, exposure, support, and a chance to help real people every day.

Summary:
We are looking for intelligent and motivated people with a finance-related qualification to join our Onboarding team as Financial Assessors, with the opportunity to progress into the Financial Consultant role within 6–12 months. As a Financial Assessor, you'll contact consumers who need financial assistance and have expressed interest in our services. You'll gather their information, give them an initial assessment of their financial position, and explain how our solutions can help them.

You'll need to think quickly and make decisions with confidence, manage client expectations, and answer questions clearly and promptly. As a Financial Assessor, you're the first point of contact in a client's debt management journey. That makes you an important ambassador for the brand and a key part of our solution funnel, so bring energy, friendliness, and professionalism.

You'll also use our systems to connect with clients and transfer them to the next stage in our process (Financial Consultants), so being comfortable with technology is an advantage.

We provide extensive induction and role-specific training so that you're fully prepared for the challenge. There are also strong growth opportunities: top performers can move into our Financial Consulting team, where you can make an even greater impact on consumers' lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact clients who have made enquiries with the company to gather information about their financial situation.
  • Assess client financial information to determine their financial position.
  • Conduct financial assessments by gathering, checking, and interpreting a client's full financial picture so the next stage of the journey can be completed accurately.
  • Make outbound calls to potential clients.
  • Manage consumer engagements on our various platforms and outbound channels.
  • Work and follow up on your WIP (work in progress), owning your pipeline rather than waiting for it to be worked for you.
  • Provide excellent customer service and manage client expectations.
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
  • Job-shadow across both the Financial Assessor and Financial Consultant sides of the journey, so you understand where your client is going next.
  • Transfer eligible consumers to our expert Financial Consulting team for a thorough assessment.

Requirements

  • Matric (compulsory).
  • Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in a finance-related field.
  • Computer literate (MS Office).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts.

Advantageous:

  • A Commerce degree.
  • Ability to assist clients in Afrikaans or another South African language, as many of our clients prefer to engage in their home language.
  • Previous sales experience, particularly in a contact centre environment.
  • Customer service experience.

Skills and competencies we are looking for:

  • Accuracy: You handle detailed information carefully and stay attentive to detail, even at high volumes.
  • Adaptability: You adjust your approach to each individual rather than running the same script for everyone.
  • Analysing and forming opinions: You examine matters systematically and work through them in a structured way.
  • Client focus: You identify what a client actually needs and respond to that, rather than to what you assumed they needed.
  • Results oriented: You honour your commitments and follow through on what you said you would do.
  • Persuasiveness: You present ideas and opinions with clear arguments in order to reach agreement.
  • Cooperation: You work with others towards a shared objective.
  • Integrity: You comply with generally accepted standards in everything related to the role.
  • Performing under pressure: You keep performing well under pressure and when faced with setbacks or disappointments.
  • Assertiveness: You stand up for yourself effectively and hold your position when it matters.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals.
  • Chance to make a real difference in our clients' lives.
  • Opportunity to grow and develop your career.
  • Debt Counselling registration: we support and fund your DC registration, which opens the Financial Consultant route to you.
  • Access to bursaries to further your studies.
  • Short courses to advance your career within Confluent.
  • Medical and Retirement Annuity benefits, and more.
  • Half a day off for your birthday.
  • Company transportation provided where applicable.
