Financial Analyst – Pricing & Profitability

SUMMARY:

An exciting opportunity is available for a Financial Analyst to join a dynamic insurance environment, with a strong focus on pricing, profitability and financial analysis.

This role will suit a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working with data, analyzing financial performance and turning complex information into meaningful insights that support pricing and business decisions.

POSITION INFO:
The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Pricing, Product and other business stakeholders to assess profitability, identify trends and provide accurate financial analysis to support the performance of insurance products and portfolios. Key Responsibilities Pricing & Profitability Analysis Analyze product and portfolio profitability and identify key drivers of performance. Support pricing analysis and provide financial insights to inform pricing decisions. Analyze revenue, claims, expenses, margins and other key profitability metrics. Monitor product performance against budgets, forecasts and expectations. Perform profitability analysis across products, portfolios, customer segments and channels. Identify trends, risks and opportunities through detailed financial analysis. Financial Analysis & Reporting Prepare monthly and quarterly profitability reporting. Analyze financial results and investigate key variances. Develop and maintain financial models, reports and analytical tools. Consolidate and analyze data from multiple sources to provide accurate financial insights. Provide regular reporting and commentary to management and relevant stakeholders. Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities. Data & Process Improvement Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial and product data. Reconcile financial information and investigate discrepancies. Identify opportunities to automate and improve financial reporting and analytical processes. Work with Finance, IT, Pricing and business stakeholders to improve data quality and reporting capabilities. Develop and maintain Excel-based models and analytical tools. Job Experience and Skills Required Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related field. Experience in financial analysis, management accounting, pricing, profitability or commercial analytics. Insurance industry experience is highly advantageous. Strong understanding of financial performance and profitability analysis. Experience working with large datasets and extracting meaningful insights from financial information. Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial models. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Ability to communicate financial findings clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. High level of attention to detail and data accuracy.
