Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Financial Accountant for our client in the civil construction sector.
 
This opportunity is ideally suited to a recent BCom Accounting graduate who has completed their articles and is looking to make the move from a professional accounting practice into a commercial finance environment. Candidates who have already gained some commercial accounting experience and are looking to further develop their careers within industry are also encouraged to apply.

POSITION INFO:
Key Skills and Requirements: Matric (Grade 12) Completed BCom Degree in Accounting or Financial Management Completed articles at a recognised accounting firm - essential Previous commercial/industry experience would be highly advantageous Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities High attention to detail and accuracy Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in MS Office Experience working with accounting software systems Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate would be required but not limited to: Manage the full accounting function, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll Prepare and present monthly financial reports Maintain the general ledger, including reconciliations and compliance processes Manage statutory submissions and compliance requirements, including VAT, corporate tax, and related returns Assist the Finance Manager with reporting, analysis, budgeting, and ad hoc financial tasks Liaise with external auditors and provide supporting documentation during audit processes Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
