Finance Controller & Payroll Administrator

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Finance Controller & Payroll Administrator to oversee the financial management and payroll operations of a hotel and restaurant. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, effective cost control, and the timely processing of payroll while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial management. Prepare, verify, and submit accurate financial reports and statements. Ensure compliance with applicable tax legislation, statutory requirements, and the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA). Maintain effective financial controls to safeguard company assets. Support the General Manager and Heads of Department with financial planning, budgeting, cost control, and revenue enhancement. Conduct and assist with monthly and ad hoc stock takes, ensuring accurate capturing, reconciliation, and reporting. Reconcile payroll costs, revenue, and stock take results to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Coordinate internal, external, and regulatory audits. Process wages and salaries accurately and on time. Maintain payroll records, employee attendance, leave, and absenteeism information. Prepare payroll reports and safeguard confidential employee information. Minimum Requirements & Skills SA Citizen Matric / Grade 12 qualification Diploma or Degree in Accounting and/or Financial Management At least 4 years' experience in a similar role with hospitality experience highly advantageous Strong knowledge of accounting principles and payroll systems. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial reporting tools. Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. High levels of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality. A thorough understanding of relevant payroll legislation and statutory compliance. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and operational teams. Must be situated in the Winelands region close to Franschhoek area. Own reliable transport.
