Farm Foreman (Lichtenburg)

SUMMARY:
Agricultural Farm based in Lichtenburg has an opening for a Farm Foreman.  A Certificate or Degree in Agriculture is highly advantageous coupled with a minimum of 5 years Farms Supervisions experience; experience and knowledge of crop protection as well as skills and experience in operating and adjusting farm machinery, servicing, maintaining and repairing farm machinery.  Knowledge on hydraulic systems and auto electrics essential.

POSITION INFO:
Report to the Farm of the Future Manager and be responsible for ensuring that equipment is continuously maintained in operating conditions; solving equipment breakdowns correctly and in time; supervising and leading the equipment operators, recording their hours; off-season maintenance in the workshop; making sure that all field operations are executed correctly and timely; record input usage per field (fertilizer, pesticides, fuel etc.) and co-operate with the Farm Agronomist in the proper execution of in-field trials. KPA's include: supervising farm employees, repair and maintenance on tractors and farm equipment, ensure preventative maintenance is in place and housekeeping in the yar, buildings and fields. Knowledge of GPS systems and electronic equipment controls. Computer literate on MS Office. The job requires working overtime and during weekends \/ public holidays when required.
