Main Purpose of the Position The Facilities Manager will oversee the maintenance, functionality and overall condition of the premises, equipment and infrastructure, with a strong focus on proactive and preventative maintenance. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance programme across the premises and equipment. • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential maintenance, safety and operational issues before they become failures. • Manage and oversee solar systems, including monitoring performance, maintenance and servicing. • Oversee refrigeration systems, ensuring regular servicing and prompt attention to potential failures. • Manage general building maintenance, including painting, paving, plumbing, electrical work, cleanliness and overall appearance of the premises. • Ensure the premises consistently maintains a clean, functional and professional look and feel. • Oversee the maintenance and servicing of machinery and operational equipment. • Coordinate external contractors and service providers, ensuring work is completed efficiently, correctly and cost-effectively. • Maintain maintenance schedules, service records, warranties and relevant documentation. • Manage security infrastructure, including physical guarding, alarms, access control and related systems. • Assist with the management and safeguarding of cash-related security requirements. • Oversee the maintenance, licensing, servicing and general condition of company vehicles. • Identify recurring maintenance issues and implement solutions to prevent repeat failures. • Obtain and manage quotations for maintenance, repairs, servicing and replacement requirements. • Monitor maintenance expenditure and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs and improve efficiency. • Ensure that all facilities and equipment comply with relevant health, safety and operational requirements. • Respond to urgent maintenance issues and coordinate repairs where preventative measures have not been sufficient. • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors and service providers. • Ensure that all maintenance activities cause minimal disruption to business operations. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is hands-on, organised, practical and highly proactive, with the ability to take ownership of a large and diverse facility. The ideal candidate will not wait for something to break. They will identify risks, plan maintenance, monitor assets and address potential problems before they impact the business. They should have strong coordination and problem-solving abilities, good contractor and supplier management skills, and a sound understanding of general building, mechanical, electrical and facilities maintenance.
