External Sales Representative – Electrical Industry | Durban

Are you a driven, results-oriented sales professional with a solid understanding of the electrical industry?

We are looking for an experienced External Sales Representative to grow our client base, develop existing accounts and drive sales across the Durban region.

POSITION INFO:
We require at least 5 years' sales experience, including a minimum of 3 years within the electrical industry , with particular exposure to switchgear, control gear, lighting and wiring accessories . Responsibilities will include building strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, promoting and advising on product solutions, preparing quotations and sales proposals, negotiating with clients and consistently achieving sales targets. You will also work closely with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and efficient delivery. We are looking for someone with excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills, who is self-motivated, commercially minded and comfortable working independently. A willingness to travel extensively within the Durban region is essential. Minimum Requirements: Matric. Minimum 5 years' sales experience, with at least 3 years in the electrical industry. Good product knowledge of switchgear, control gear, lighting and wiring accessories. A relevant Sales, Business or related qualification would be advantageous. Proven external sales experience and a track record of achieving targets. Excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship-building skills. Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport. Willingness to travel regularly, including occasional long-distance trips. Working Conditions: Combination of office-based work and external client visits. Extensive travel throughout the Johannesburg region. Standard business hours, with occasional flexibility required. May involve transporting product samples and sales material.
