Excavator Operator

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Excavator Operator specialising in claw/grab attachments within a demanding heavy industrial environment in the Coega Industrial Area, Gqeberha.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' proven practical experience operating excavators fitted specifically with claw/grab attachments.
This is a specialised machine-operating position requiring excellent machine control, precision, safety awareness and the ability to handle heavy bulk materials efficiently.
IMPORTANT: Applicants without substantial hands-on experience operating excavators with claw/grab attachments will not meet the minimum requirements for this position.

POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Candidates must meet the following requirements: Minimum 3 years' proven experience operating excavators with claw/grab attachments. Extensive practical experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, recycling or bulk materials handling environments. Valid excavator operator certification/licence, where applicable. Sound knowledge of heavy machinery operation and safety procedures. Ability to operate machinery safely, accurately and efficiently in a demanding industrial environment. Physically fit, alert and capable of performing duties in challenging working conditions. Willingness and availability to work shifts, overtime and weekends when required. Reliable transport to and from the Coega Industrial Area. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Safely and efficiently operate an excavator fitted with a claw/grab attachment. Load, unload, lift, move and sort heavy bulk materials. Perform material handling duties within a busy industrial environment. Ensure precise and controlled machine movements at all times. Conduct daily pre-start inspections and report equipment defects or maintenance requirements. Comply strictly with all health, safety and site-specific operating procedures. Maintain productivity and operational efficiency without compromising safety. Assist with general site activities and operational duties when required. Maintain the cleanliness and basic care of the assigned machinery. Salary Market related
