Erecting Machine Technician

SUMMARY:
Our client in the packaging and printing industry is seeking a hands-on and technically minded Erecting Machine Technician to service, maintain and repair carton erecting machines at various customer sites

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS Matric 3-5 years of experience in a technical, mechanical, agricultural or machinery-related environment Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing machinery Experience with different types of erecting or packaging machines will be advantageous Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic abilities Valid Code 8 driver's licence Computer literacy, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook Good interpersonal skills Ability to interact professionally with customers at different levels Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites Available to work overtime, weekends and after hours when required Able to work independently and manage own workload Self-motivated, proactive and goal-oriented Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Customer-focused with good communication skills Direct carton erecting machine experience will be advantageous, but candidates with transferable machinery servicing and repair experience are encouraged to apply RESPONSIBILITIES Service, maintain and repair carton erecting machines at various customer sites Ensuring that machines operate efficiently through preventative maintenance, fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs Service, maintain and repair carton erecting machines at various customer sites Conduct planned and preventative maintenance Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs Attend breakdowns and customer call-outs when required Conduct regular visits to packhouses and customer premises Minimise machine downtime through effective maintenance and fault resolution Ensure machinery operates efficiently and reliably Adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental and housekeeping standards Represent the organization professionally when interacting with customers
