Electrical Foreman
Location: Pietermaritzburg
Salary: Up to R33,000 basic per month (non-negotiable).

Our established client is seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman with 7+ years' supervisory and leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:

• Electrical Trade Test + N6 Electrical Engineering.
• Wireman's License (advantage)
• 7+ years' supervisory experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience.
• PLC and Variable Speed Drives (VSD) experience.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements: Electrical Trade + N6 Electrical Engineering. Wireman's License (advantage) 7+ years of experience at a supervisory level. Manufacturing industry experience. Work long hours. Duties and Responsibilities: Carry out repairs and planned maintenance to all electrical equipment on site. Do electrical installation on new equipment on site. Upon sanction approval, modify and improve existing equipment to optimise the capacity of such equipment. Ensure the legal compliance of all electrical installations and equipment. Manage a team of electricians, assistants and apprentices. Diagnose and carry out repairs to faulty machinery. Distribute the equipment and materials to allow the team to perform the assigned activities. Ensure the team adheres to applicable safety standards. Coordinate and check the work carried out by the team, reporting any deviations to the manager. Plan and coordinate the daily work routines of electricians and ensure effective shift cover. Ensure overtime is managed effectively and kept within budget. Order and control critical spare parts. Thorough knowledge and understanding of electricity, electrical and electronic equipment and the tools used in the industry. Thorough knowledge and understanding of power, reticulation, control systems and process types of equipment ranging from 12V to 11KV. Ability to fault find and solve problems on industrial machinery. To be practically inclined and have ability to work with hands and tools. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, both schematic and wiring diagrams. Ability to work accurately, neatly and efficiently. Able to fault find and perform maintenance work on transformers. Experience on PLC's and Variable Speed drives. Knowledge on instrumentation and repairing of equipment. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to work in dusty conditions. Ability to work extensive hours. Perform standby duties. Able to switch and fault find on MV switchgear.
