POSITION INFO:
Our client in the engineering and building services sector is recruiting an experienced Electrical BIM Technician / Draftsperson to join their (Westville) Durban-based office. The role focuses on electrical services draughting, Revit and CAD modelling, and electrical design support across building services and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will form part of the Engineering Design Team and work closely with project engineers, consultants, supply authorities, and clients to deliver high-quality electrical design documentation. Key Responsibilities Carry out electrical services draughting work. Carry out electrical services Revit and CAD draughting work. Carry out electrical services design work. Ensure the quality of services provided is of a high standard and in accordance with best industry practice. Attend site, coordination, design, and all other project meetings. Perform site inspections. Liaise with relevant supply authorities. Liaise with other consultants. Coordinate projects internally. Travel overseas or to remote places in South Africa and Africa when required. Submit information and reports as required. Maintain professional relationships with customers, suppliers, and trade connections. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and timesheet requirements. Minimum Requirements Minimum of 5 years'' Revit experience (essential). Prior electrical draughting experience. Proven experience in electrical services draughting and design. Strong CAD and BIM capability. Willingness to undergo a Revit Competency Test at interview stage. Willingness to work after hours to meet deadlines when required. Willingness to travel for site visits. Experience working on building services or infrastructure projects. Exposure to multidisciplinary design coordination. Familiarity with Revit MEP workflows. Valid driver''s license.
