Introduction

• To ensure that the safe, timely, and confidential delivery of prescription medications and healthcare products to customers, clinics and healthcare facilities. The driver plays a vital role in maintaining trust and reliability between the pharmacy and its clients.

Job Objectives:

• Deliver prescription and OTC medications to residential homes, clinics, retirement homes, and hospitals
• Ensure urgent deliveries are prioritised
• Handle temperature sensitive and scheduled medication securely
• Ensure refrigerated medication/products have ice packs
• Loading vehicle carefully to ensure the safe delivery of parcels
• Obtain signatures and maintain proof-of-delivery
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Communicate professionally with patients and healthcare staff
• Relay customer concerns or queries to the Dispensary Manager
• Return undelivered or rejected items to the dispensary with the relevant documentation
• Ensure that the vehicle is cleaned regularly
• Ensure check sheet for deliveries are completed accurately
• Ensure the accurate number of parcels are confirmed beforehand
• Ensure that all duties allocated are carried out and completed

• National Senior Certificate(Matric) Essential
• At least 2 years previous delivery or courier experience
• Basic knowledge of pharmacy procedures (advantages)
• A Code 08 or 10 driver’s license required, approved by the South African Road Traffic Act
• A Valid PDP
• No traffic violations on record
• Must be prepared to work shifts in order to meet the operational requirements of the department
