Distribution Team Leader

Job Description

Our client, an established organization committed to operational excellence, is seeking a motivated Distribution Team Leader to join their KwaZulu-Natal team and drive their distribution operations forward.

Duties:

• Monitor driver performance and conduct evaluations to ensure high standards.
• Ensure driver availability aligns with delivery schedules.
• Oversee fleet control and coordinate delivery planning.
• Promote and uphold the company's positive image.
• Maintain a 99% OTIF (On Time In Full) and service efficiency rate.
• Manage fleet departure times, turnaround times, and document returned stock daily.
• Handle administrative functions such as PODs, picking slips, and GRV queries.
• Manage fleet tracking systems and oversee yard housekeeping.
• Report late or non-delivery incidents and schedule truck services.
• Liaise with sales teams regarding delivery delays.
• Conduct daily fleet inspections and perform weekly OT analysis.
• Report accidents or incidents and manage yard control and receiving processes.
• Control operational costs within budget.

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics.
• Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Windows.
• 3-4 years of logistics experience.
• 1-3 years supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license Code 08.
• Proven skills in fleet management, planning, and management.
• Strong relationship-building and time management skills.

Familiarity with the following is advantageous:

• Fleet management systems and delivery planning tools.

What We'll Give You:

• Salary: R20,000 - R24,000 per month (Cost to Company)
