SUMMARY:
Software Development Engineer vacancy in Modderfontein. Degree in Computer Science or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience in software and/ or a system design environment. Detailed understanding of C++, Java, C,SQL, PHP, UML, and database design.

POSITION INFO:
Software Development Engineer Modderfontein Design software for new electronic products or improve existing designs of said products through innovation and research of new and existing technologies, to provide a reliable, robust, and customer-focused blasting solution. Required outputs: Functional Design and develop firmware/software solutions. Develop and optimise data handling and management systems. Solicit business requirements from customers and develop system technical specifications. Develop tests (according to best practice) throughout the product development lifecycle. Keep abreast of global technological developments in the mining and software engineering space to provide direction for software development projects. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new software systems at client sites; interfacing with and ensuring the satisfaction of clients in this process. Requirements Qualifications and expertise required (Must) A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. 5 years' experience programming in a professional capacity. Software development experience using C++, Javascript C#, and modern .NET / ASP.NET Core Work with operational and analytical databases such as PostgreSQL and ClickHouse. Work with containerised deployment technologies such as Docker, Cloud Run and/or Kubernetes. Experience working with databases in a software/web development context and Cloud Platforms. Qualifications and expertise required (Beneficial) Software development experience using Golang, QT and QML. (Highly advantageous). Mobile application development at commercial level, Android/ IOS. (Highly advantageous). Project management methodologies e.g. AGILE, SCRUM, Kanban etc. Experience using UX principles to develop user interfaces. Web application development at a commercial level, with [JavaScript, HTML5, Angular, NodeJS]. Experience using testing tools e.g. Selenium, Postman, Playwright.
