At The President Hotel in Bantry Bay, Cape Town, we're looking for a Demi Chef de Partie to support the Chef de Partie and help keep an assigned kitchen section running smoothly.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role within a hotel or reputable restaurant. Culinary diploma or equivalent professional training is advantageous. Strong culinary skills and practical experience within a specific kitchen section. Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent taste, quality and presentation. Ability to guide, train and support Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants. Good understanding of kitchen operations, stock control and inventory management. Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards. Strong time management, organisational and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards. A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a kitchen team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with food preparation and cooking according to established recipes and presentation standards. Support the Chef de Partie with the daily operation of your assigned section. Maintain consistent flavour, quality and presentation throughout service. Help train and supervise Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants. Monitor stock levels, assist with supply orders and ensure freshness while minimising waste. Maintain a clean, organised section and follow hygiene and safety procedures. Contribute ideas for new dishes and improvements to existing recipes. Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain efficient service. Resolve challenges within your section promptly and support a positive working environment.
