Job Description

About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Cybersecurity Assurance and Compliance Specialist to lead and support information security governance, risk management, compliance, and security assurance activities across the organization. In this role, you will maintain and advance critical security certification programs—including SOC 2 Type II, CMMC Level 2, and ISO/IEC 27001—while ensuring continuous audit readiness.
You will act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, certification bodies, and customer security assessments. Additionally, you will oversee enterprise cyber risk management, manage the cybersecurity risk register, and collaborate with business and technology teams to drive remediation efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all activities for SOC 2 Type II, CMMC Level 2, and ISO/IEC 27001 compliance, tracking audit findings and maintaining framework mappings.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to external auditors, coordinate interviews and testing, perform internal readiness reviews, and establish control documentation.
  • Own and coordinate responses to customer cybersecurity questionnaires, RFP security sections, and vendor reviews while partnering with Sales, Legal, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Manage the enterprise cybersecurity risk register, facilitate periodic risk assessments across systems and cloud environments, and develop risk scoring frameworks.
  • Assist with the development of information security policies, support third-party vendor security reviews, and contribute to security awareness training initiatives.

Key Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, risk management, governance, or compliance.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience supporting SOC 2, ISO/IEC 27001, CMMC, or NIST 800-171.
  • Proven experience managing compliance documentation, conducting risk assessments, and responding to customer security questionnaires.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365, comfortable using GRC and policy management platforms, and highly skilled at preparing clear written compliance summaries.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
