POSITION INFO:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Credit Lead to play a key role in shaping and enhancing credit strategy across multiple African markets. This role offers the opportunity to influence credit policy, portfolio performance, profitability, and customer experience within a fast-paced, data-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: Drive the development and enhancement of credit policies and decisioning strategies. Analyse portfolio performance and recommend improvements to credit limits, scorecard cut-offs, pricing, and provisioning strategies. Design, execute, and evaluate credit experiments to improve business outcomes and customer experience. Monitor portfolio trends, identify emerging risks, and recommend corrective actions. Partner with Data Science, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams to translate analytical insights into practical business solutions. Support the implementation and governance of credit policy changes from concept through to execution and post-implementation review Requirements: 5-8+ years' experience within consumer credit risk, credit policy, risk analytics, or portfolio management. Degree in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline. Strong experience in unsecured lending, credit risk management, and portfolio analytics. Advanced SQL and/or Python skills with the ability to work with large datasets. Strong understanding of credit scoring, risk-based pricing, IFRS 9 provisioning, and profitability analytics. Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex data into actionable business decisions.
