Costing Engineer

SUMMARY:
Costing Engineer required for a well-established company based on the East Rand

POSITION INFO:
Prepare accurate cost estimates and support tender submissions. Develop knowledge of costing methods, models, tools and software. Assist with maintaining and improving the costing database and automated costing models. Understand fabrication processes, steelwork, platework, pipework and mechanical components. Obtain and manage supplier\/sub-contractor quotations and RFQs. Assist with tender planning, returnable schedules and site inspections. Liaise with technical and contracts teams regarding drawings, component weights, manufacturing rates and delivery schedules. Identify discrepancies between costing, contracts and drawings. Analyse estimated vs actual costs and update costing methods accordingly. Assist with the handover of successful orders to the Contracts Department.
