Our client, an established organization operating at the intersection of insurance, financial services, and legal industries, is seeking a highly experienced Corporate Commercial Lawyer who is eager to contribute to complex transactions and strategic growth. Duties: Advise clients on structuring, negotiating, and documenting intricate corporate and commercial transactions including M&A, joint ventures, and portfolio transfers. Draft and negotiate a broad spectrum of commercial contracts such as supply, distribution, licensing, and technology agreements. Provide regulatory guidance on insurance and reinsurance licensing, intermediary regulation, and compliance with South African financial services legislation. Mentor junior legal staff and assist in succession planning within the practice. Engage in business development initiatives to strengthen client relationships and support the firm’s growth strategy. Requirements: Admitted Attorney in the High Court of South Africa. Minimum of 10 years PQE in commercial, corporate, and regulatory law. Strong academic credentials, including an LLB (LLM or postgraduate qualification preferred). Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in research, writing, and time management. Proven ability in client relationship management and business development.
