Cook - B&I

• We are looking for a passionate and experienced Cook to join our Business & Industry catering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional food safety, hygiene, and customer service standards in a corporate dining environment.

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menu requirements.
• Ensure food is presented attractively and served at the correct temperatures.
• Assist with menu planning and daily food production.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with stock control and ordering.
• Minimize food waste and adhere to portion control guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations.
• Assist with catering functions and special events when required.
• Support the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery.

Skills and Competencies    

• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications    

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant Culinary Qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Cook within a contract catering, hospitality, or food service environment.
