COO (MSOL)

Automation Control Solutions is a market leader in Southern Africa in the field of Process Control Instrumentation providing world-renowned products, specialised training, after sales service and technical support. Automation Control Solutions represents Emerson Automation Solutions, in Southern and Eastern Africa.

The COO (MSOL) will take ownership of all product-related sales and service activities for the Measurement Solutions portfolio across Southern Africa. This highly strategic role is to ensure effective collaboration, growth, and customer satisfaction in line with the companies’ growth aspiration.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

• Serve as the primary representative and subject matter expert for Emerson’s Measurement Solutions product range.
• Drive sales growth, business development, and market penetration strategies across Southern
• Develop and implement product growth initiatives to meet and exceed business targets.
• Responsibility as the primary interface between ACS and Emerson for pricing, business practices, and operational alignment.
• Manage Emerson Dollar Booking Numbers, reporting, and forecasting accuracy.
• Support project pursuits, contract management, and customer engagement.
• Facilitate training and capability development within sales and service teams.
• Provide product performance and market analysis reports to ACS and Emerson management.

ACADEMIC / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12
• Management related qualification
• Trade qualified as an Instrumentation Mechanician (advantageous)

EXPERIENCE:

• 10 years’ experience in Measurement, Instrumentation, or Process Automation Sales, minimum.
• Minimum 5 years in a Senior Managerial or Leadership capacity.
• Experience with Emerson Measurement Solutions or equivalent product technologies.
• Strong understanding of the industrial Automation and Instrumentation markets within Southern Africa.
• Proven record in achieving sales growth and product management excellence. Evidence of applied skill application is required.

• Strong technical understanding of process measurement systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strategic thinker with strong commercial insight.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
• Proficient in MS Office, CRM platforms, and business management software.
