SUMMARY:
Job Title: Control Room Operator (Underground Platinum Mine)
Location: Lydenburg, Mpumalanga

Job Overview:
Monitor and control underground operations from the control room, so production and safety systems work as planned.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements: Matric, with relevant technical or mining control room training (or equivalent). At least 2 years' experience in a mining control room or in underground operations. Computer literacy and the ability to monitor several systems at once. Clear communication under pressure. Advantageous: Experience with mine monitoring, SCADA or similar systems; underground operating experience; platinum mining experience. Key Responsibilities: Monitor underground systems, such as ventilation, pumping, conveyors, and safety and communication systems, using the control room screens. Respond to alarms, and escalate and record faults and emergencies as per the procedures. Communicate with underground teams, supervisors and engineering by radio or phone.
