This is a defining career opportunity for an authoritative technology leader to steer cloud innovation across AWS and Azure, champion information security governance, and serve as the organisation''s Information Officer. You will play an instrumental role in safeguarding mission-critical platforms while driving resilience, regulatory compliance, and cloud cost optimisation across a rapidly expanding operational footprint. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Cloud Leadership: Define and drive the enterprise cloud roadmap across AWS and Azure environments, governing account structures, security baselines, and architectural frameworks while optimising overall cloud expenditure. Cyber Security Governance: Direct the overarching information security programme, orchestrating vulnerability management, incident response, and threat mitigation across hybrid and cloud infrastructures. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Own and execute robust IT disaster recovery frameworks, ensuring strict RTO/RPO alignment, immutable backup resilience, and comprehensive annual DR simulation testing. ISO 27001 & Audit Ownership: Sponsor the organisation''s ISO 27001 certification journey, chair the ISMS management review, and lead the IT audit scope with executive reporting to Exco and the Audit Committee. Regulatory Leadership: Act as the designated Information Officer under POPIA and PAIA, overseeing data protection compliance, privacy impact assessments, and third-party data processor agreements. AI & Emerging Tech Oversight: Formulate pragmatic policies and approval mechanisms for the secure and ethical adoption of Artificial Intelligence platforms and integrations. Vendor & Team Management: Lead high-performing technical specialists across infrastructure, cyber security, and GRC while managing strategic tier-one cloud and security vendor contracts. Essential Requirements: Extensive senior-level experience in managing enterprise cloud infrastructure (AWS and Microsoft Azure) alongside robust cyber security programmes. Demonstrated expertise in information security frameworks, risk registers, and driving ISO 27001 certification or compliance. In-depth practical understanding of South African data privacy legislation, specifically POPIA and PAIA operational frameworks. Proven track record in architecting IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including immutable backup configurations and ransomware recovery protocols. Strong commercial and financial acumen, with demonstrated success managing multi-million Rand cloud budgets and vendor SLAs. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly advantageous.
