Classroom Teacher Assistant (JHB North)

Requirements

• The Junior Preparatory invites applications for the abovementioned position, which will be available from 01 January 2027, negotiable.
• Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.

The requirements for this position are:

• To facilitate small group activities under the direction of the class teacher.
• To assist the class teacher with classroom duties within the Junior Prep and the setting up of indoor and outdoor activities.
• A willingness to assist in the Aftercare programme.
• Proficiency in the use of technology.
• Qualification in Teaching is advantageous.
• Classroom substitution, when this is needed.
• A passion for the physical care and careful supervision of young children.
• Excellent people and organisational skills.
• Ability to take initiative and to act decisively.
• An unequivocal commitment to working as part of an accomplished team.
• A willingness to ensure that diversity and inclusion is fundamental to all actions.
• A willingness to work within the values, Methodist Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as participation in the broader life of the school.
• Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate and First Aid certificate.
