SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join their team in George. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing quality meals while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.

POSITION INFO:
Description: Prepare and cook meals according to menus and required standards. Ensure consistent food quality, taste and presentation. Assist with menu planning and development where required. Manage food preparation and kitchen operations. Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering of ingredients. Minimise food wastage and control portion sizes. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety. Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean and well maintained. Work effectively as part of a kitchen team. Manage preparation and service during busy periods. Ensure food is stored correctly and in accordance with health and safety requirements. Requirements: Matric \/ Grade 12 preferred. Relevant culinary qualification would be advantageous. Previous experience as a Chef in a restaurant, hotel, lodge or similar environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen procedures. Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, organised and professional. Passion for food and attention to detail.
