Bush Lodge based close to Musina is looking for a practical, hands-on Camp Manager / Chef to join its team.
 
These positions suit adaptable candidates who enjoy bush hospitality, has a background in food preparation and take pride in looking after guests and are comfortable assisting wherever needed.

POSITION INFO:
Duties: Oversee daily camp operations and ensure a welcoming guest experience. Manage and support staff across housekeeping, guest service and general camp duties. Prepare meals and assist with cooking when required. Coordinate guest arrivals, departures and daily requirements. Monitor food, housekeeping supplies and other operational stock. Oversee cleanliness, presentation and general upkeep of the camp. Report maintenance issues and follow up on repairs. Handle guest enquiries and resolve concerns professionally. Prepare tasty, balanced and well-presented meals. Plan practical menus according to guest numbers, dietary requirements and available ingredients. Coordinate meal preparation and quantities to meet the requirements of the camps. Monitor food supplies and communicate ordering requirements. Maintain portion control, minimise waste and rotate stock correctly. Keep the kitchen, equipment and food storage areas clean and organised. Maintain food safety and hygiene standards. Requirements: Previous experience managing a camp, bush lodge or similar hospitality operation. Must be confident preparing wholesome, well-presented meals independently. Previous experience cooking in a lodge, camp, guesthouse or similar environment. Ability to prepare a variety of home-style meals confidently. Understanding of dietary requirements, food storage and kitchen hygiene. Strong guest relations, staff supervision and organisational skills. Practical, resourceful and comfortable working in a bush environment. Ability to manage daily priorities and solve problems independently. Willingness to assist across departments.
