- Our client is a technology consulting business. It delivers software development, product strategy, UX and engineering services, and helps organisations through digital transformation.
- They need a commercially minded business developer who can find new business and build relationships with senior decision-makers. The role also grows into managing consulting deals from first conversation through to close. It isn’t a high-volume, scripted sales role. The business wants someone who thinks like a future CEO: curious, commercially sharp, and able to hold a credible conversation with a CTO.
- You’ll work directly with leadership, and you’ll have the room and mentorship to grow into a senior business development role selling complex transformation work.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning new business development across a clearly defined ideal customer profile (ICP): identifying, targeting and opening doors at key accounts.
- Building and managing your own pipeline, from first contact through qualification, proposal and close, with support from leadership and the consulting team.
- Engaging C-suite and technical stakeholders to understand their business challenges and match them to software, product and transformation solutions.
- Leading discovery conversations and helping shape solutions and proposals with the delivery team.
- Developing and growing long-term client relationships, and finding expansion opportunities within existing and target accounts.
- Prospecting through LinkedIn, email, networking and industry events.
- Working with leadership to refine the ICP and go-to-market approach, and sharing market intelligence and trends.
- Managing longer, consultative sales cycles and keeping your CRM pipeline accurate.
What we’re looking for
- 2-5 years’ experience in B2B business development, technology sales, solution sales or consulting sales. Experience as an SDR/BDR moving into a full-cycle role will also be considered.
- A track record of generating and progressing new business opportunities.
- Strong business acumen. You understand how organisations work, how buying decisions get made and what drives growth.
- A strong interest in technology. You don’t need to be a developer, but you should be able to engage CTOs credibly and learn complex solutions quickly.
- The confidence to engage C-suite and technical stakeholders, without arrogance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with sharp questioning and listening skills.
- Self-motivation, ambition and comfort working in a growing business that is still being built.
- CRM experience and LinkedIn-led outreach are an advantage.
This role is not for you if…
- You prefer a scripted, volume-driven or purely transactional sales environment.
- You sell product features rather than solving business problems.
- You aren’t interested in how technology works.
What’s on offer
- Direct mentorship from leadership and real exposure to how the business is run.
- Ownership of complex digital transformation and consulting opportunities.
- A clear path to a senior business development or strategic sales role.
- An environment where drive, obsession and results are recognised and rewarded.
