Business Development Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client based in the East Rand is seeking an experienced, results-driven Business Development Manager to drive new business acquisition within the institutional hygiene, laundry chemicals, and professional cleaning solutions industry.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements: Minimum 6 years' B2B sales experience in institutional hygiene, laundry chemicals, or related cleaning and hygiene solutions. Degree or diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a commercial qualification with strong technical aptitude. Proven track record in new business development, including at least 3 documented competitor conversions or group account wins. Strong understanding of cost-in-use calculations, chemical dosing systems, laundry processes, and basic infection-control and HACCP principles. Experience in proposal writing, tender preparation, commercial negotiations, and presenting to senior decision-makers. Proficiency in Excel, CRM systems, sales forecasting, and pipeline management. Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to drive gross profit and demonstrate value beyond price. Established networks within hotel groups, hospitals, commercial laundries, contract cleaning, or facilities management companies. Valid South African driver's licence and passport. Must reside in Gauteng, preferably the East Rand, and be willing to travel within South Africa and selected SADC countries, including Namibia and Mozambique.
