Bursary Opportunities for Technical and Non-Technical Disciplines

• Applicant must be a citizen of South Africa in terms of the South African Citizen Act, No 88 of 1995 and reside within the Joe Morolong Local Municipality jurisdiction.
• Learners currently in Grade 12
• Students who are registered at any accredited South African Public Tertiary Institution Students must be between the age of 17 years and 35 years
• Students who are currently in their 1st, 2nd or final year of their study
• Students who currently do not have a bursary or student loan Students that are historically disadvantaged and financially in need

CRITERIA

• 60% average Grade 12 academic achievements
• No Bursaries will be granted to existing students who are not promoted to next year level of study
• Applications from designated groups will be given preference i.e., HDis
• Consideration will be given to applicants that meet the means test requirements.
• Proof of acceptance/admission by the University for 2027 year of study
• Completed Application form obtainable from Joe Morolong website www.joemorolong.gov.za or Human Resources Office
• Certified copy of ID applicant Copies of Parents/Guardian ID
• An Affidavit confirming if both parents are unemployed Copies of parent's proof of income/ social or pension grant
• Copy of Grade 12 results /Grade 11 report when currently in Grade 12
• Copy 2026 Academic record (for students already studying at University or University of Technology)
• Proof of residence from Municipality or Tribal Office
