Branch Operations & Business Development Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established company within the courier and logistics industry, is seeking an experienced and driven Branch Operations & Business Development Manager to join their team in Mthatha.

POSITION INFO:
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an individual who is confident managing a busy operational environment while actively developing new business opportunities within the Mthatha and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities: Manage and lead a team of approximately 20 operational staff Oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring efficient service delivery and operational standards are maintained Drive new business development and identify opportunities to grow the branch's customer base Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients Conduct regular client visits and actively develop business opportunities within Mthatha and surrounding areas Ensure customer service levels are consistently maintained Monitor operational performance and address issues effectively Motivate, manage and develop the operational team Contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the branch Requirements: Previous experience in a courier, logistics, freight, transport or related environment Proven experience managing a team, ideally within an operational environment Strong business development and sales ability Confident in cold calling, client visits and developing new business Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to work independently and make decisions in a challenging and fast-paced environment Must be confident visiting clients and developing business within Mthatha and surrounding areas Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a large operational team A valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle would be advantageous The Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will be a strong-willed, confident and resilient individual who is comfortable operating in a demanding environment.
