We are looking for an Automation Test Analyst to join our financial services client based in Sandton for a 12-month contract role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and executing reusable automated test assets using established automation frameworks and test tools. The role will focus on quality assurance of solutions and their architecture, while ensuring alignment with enterprise quality practices, standards, governance, and Agile delivery principles.
POSITION INFO:
What you will be doing: Design, develop, implement, and execute reusable automated test assets using established automation frameworks and test tools. Analyse business and technical requirements to develop effective test automation solutions. Work closely with QA Leads, Practice Leads, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and testing approaches. Participate in planning, estimation, sizing, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and acceptance criteria definition. Discuss low-level designs and functional requirements with QA Leads and Application\/Solution Architects to determine appropriate test automation approaches. Develop automation code using the prescribed automation test kit and frameworks. Implement automated testing solutions that provide appropriate test coverage within the sprint. Ensure automation solutions are reusable, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with architectural and development standards. Integrate automated tests into DevOps pipelines and support automated test execution within CI\/CD processes. Collaborate with technical teams to continuously improve automation frameworks and the overall testing platform. Ensure test automation code and related artefacts are appropriately catalogued, stored, and governed within the required repositories. Maintain relevant testing artefacts to ensure they are easily accessible and traceable. Execute functional and automated testing activities and report testing progress and outcomes to the squad. Log, manage, and track defects using the prescribed defect management process and tools. Provide accurate defect information to support root cause analysis and resolution. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure defects are resolved and root cause analysis is completed and documented. Identify potential product and quality risks and communicate these to the QA Lead, including possible mitigation strategies. Provide regular status updates on testing activities, risks, defects, and overall quality. Participate in showcases, sprint ceremonies, and retrospective reviews. Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor Software Test Engineers within the team and support the development of their technical capabilities. Collaborate with peers and industry experts to remain informed about technical advancements and their application within the technology environment. Stay abreast of developments in automation testing, quality assurance, and related technologies. Manage own workload and deliver testing activities within agreed timelines. Contribute to business strategy, objectives, values, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support Agile ways of working and contribute to improving business processes, models, and systems. What we are looking for: Completed BSc \/ IT degree or other related fields 3 - 6 years experience as an Automation Test Analyst ISTQB Agile Foundation certification Experience developing and executing automated test solutions using established automation frameworks and tools Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance practices. Experience working within Agile delivery environments. Experience integrating automated testing into DevOps\/CI\/CD pipelines . Understanding of software architecture and the ability to collaborate with Architects and Developers on automation approaches.
