SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established national accounting and audit firm, is seeking a suitably qualified and motivated Auditorto join their team in Durban. The successful candidate will be required to travel to various client sites to conduct external audits and provide professional audit services.

POSITION INFO:
Job Requirements: B.Com Degree in Accounting. Completed and signed off SAICA Articles. Background in IT, essential. Duties & Responsibilities: Travel to client premises to conduct audits and inspections. Meet with client management and staff to understand business processes and controls. Review financial records, accounting systems, invoices, receipts, payroll records and supporting documentation. Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial information through testing and sampling. Assess compliance with company policies, industry regulations and statutory requirements. Evaluate internal controls and identify risks, weaknesses or areas for improvement. Perform stock counts, asset verifications and site inspections where required. Gather and document audit evidence in accordance with audit standards and procedures. Discuss audit findings, exceptions and recommendations with client representatives. Prepare detailed audit working papers and reports for management review. Provide professional advice on strengthening controls and improving operational efficiency. Follow up on previous audit findings and monitor implementation of corrective actions. Maintain professional relationships with clients while ensuring independence and objectivity. Ensure all audit assignments are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards. Report significant risks, fraud indicators or non-compliance issues to management.
