URGENT VACANCY: COMMERCIAL & CIVIL LITIGATION ATTORNEY

An established law firm is seeking an experienced and driven Commercial & Civil Litigation Attorney to join its team.

Minimum Requirements:

• LLB degree.
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in commercial and civil litigation.
• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans.
• Experience with MS Office, LexisConvey, AJS, Court Online and CaseLines.

• Manage commercial and civil litigation matters from inception to finalisation.
• Consult with clients, obtain instructions and advise on legal disputes.
• Draft pleadings, notices, affidavits, applications and legal opinions.
• Develop litigation strategies, assess claims and negotiate settlements.
• Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with legislation, court rules and deadlines.
• Brief and liaise with advocates, correspondent attorneys, sheriffs and other relevant parties.
• Manage debt recovery proceedings, contractual disputes and civil claims.
• Maintain accurate matter records, monitor court dates and provide regular client updates.
• Prepare billing information and manage matters cost-effectively.
