Assistant Store Manager (in training) - FMCG Retail

SUMMARY:
Join a dynamic team as an Assistant Store Manager in training (designate), supporting the Store Manager in all operations—sales, HR, admin, and stock. You’ll help drive floor execution, manage online orders, control shrinkage, and deliver customer service. Ideal for a strong supervisor ready to step up.

Key KPIs:

• Accurate stock levels, complaint resolution, team productivity, online order fulfilment, and promotional execution.

• 5+ years of retail/FMCG experience, including Receiving, Administration, Cash Office or Sales Floor Management, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Relevant Retail FMCG qualification is advantageous.
• Proficiency in inventory systems, staff scheduling, and operational oversight is essential.
• Various locations across South Africa (Western Cape, Garden Route, Eastern Cape and Border, KwaZulu-Natal)
• Must be willing to work retail hours.

• Creative and innovative thinking; strong problem-solving and analytical ability
• Sound business acumen and understanding of fiscal guidelines and financial reporting
• Effective communicator, able to explain concepts to first-time users and deliver information to groups
• Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills; diplomatic under pressure
• Quality-focused with a strong sense of professionalism and adherence to SOPs
• Leadership ability, including coaching, mentoring, and change management
• Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); numerical skills; SAP, UNISOLV, SuccessFactors experience advantageous
