Assistant Silo Manager

Senwes Grainlink is recruiting for an Assistant Silo Manager who will primarily be responsible for the handling and storage of grain in order to ensure a quality product and achieve sustainable financial results.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the intake, storage and dispatch of grain.
• Grade grain according to statutory requirements.
• Ensure the correct offloading and quality of grain.
• Oversee the loading of grain and the sample-taking process.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Provide input into the planning and allocation of storage capacity based on crop estimates.
• Coordinate the pre-cleaning, drying, aeration and fumigation of grain.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

• National Senior Certificate.
• Relevant grain grading and fumigation courses.
• Certificate in Management/Leadership.
• 3 years’ experience in the grain industry, with knowledge and experience in:
  • Crop estimates
  • Testing and grading of grain
  • Fumigation
  • Aeration
• Knowledge of SAP.
