Assistant Material Controller (Fixed Term Contract) (Mpumalanga - Secunda)

Description

• To control materials needs by coordinating with various teams, determining requirements, tracking production schedules and materials requirements, reconciling with available materials, optimising stock levels and completing administration daily. 
• To source stock by evaluating potential and existing vendors and suppliers, conducting price and supply analysis, making recommendations, negotiating with approved suppliers, managing delivery against promises and completing administration as required. 
• To resolve materials availability and quality issues by investigating, engaging with suppliers, resolving, and completing administration as required. 
• To complete materials disposal by identifying materials that require disposal, implementing required disposal practice and completing administration as required.
• To comply with policies by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of policies, participating in training sessions and sourcing answers to any queries daily and as required 
• To comply with processes by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of processes, implementing the correct process and addressing any areas of concern daily
• To implement SHE practices by understanding required actions, implementing and reviewing within deadline or as per process. 

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
• Diploma in Supply Chain or similar will be advantageous
• 2+ years in materials control  
• 1+ year mining experience 
• 1+ year explosives materials control will be advantageous.
